Daily skin care to prevent break outs can be challenging enough- but skin care while traveling? Now that’s an entirely different ball game! Travel is something we all look forward to, but there is a lot of stress that can contribute to break-outs. From a change in time zones, to lack of sleep, increased stress and loss of routine, it can be a struggle to take care of ourselves. But this is the time we need to be the most conscious of our skin care.
Read on to discover my 5 favorite skin care products I pack during my travels. Whether I am by the ocean, on a road trip or at a music festival, these are my essentials that I discovered over the past 8 years. Enjoy!*Disclaimer: I am not a dermatologist and want to emphasize every human is different- what works for my skin type may be different from others. Also, I am not paid nor do I have any affiliations with products listed.

1. Dr. Brandt’s Pore Purifying Cleanser
I have tried an extensive list of facial cleansers during my twenties. Over time, our hormones, environment and life is constantly changing, so it only makes sense our needs change as time goes. During winter, I have an oily/combination skin type and during the warmer months my skin type is usually more oily. Dr. Brandt’s has been a miracle worker to zap current blemishes and prevent new ones from forming because of how deeply it cleans the pores. I like to switch around my facial cleansers with the change of season, but Dr. Brandt’s has been a consistent facial cleanser I bring on all my trips!
Tip: Pair with an electric cleansing brush! Any kind or brand works!
2. Pacifica Vegan Collagen Recovery Eye Cream
How much sleep do you get when you travel? I am usually on the go and don’t get as much as I’d like to, which leaves me with dark circles or bags under my eyes. Recovery eye cream from Pacifica has been a lifesaver! I use it twice a day and even double it as a moisturizer. You can easily throw it in your carry on bag and apply under your eyes if you are on a red eye flight or on the road.
Tip: I love to use Recovery Eye Cream after face masking! Especially before bedtime.
3. Oil Absorbing Sheets
I am in love with oil absorbing sheets because they leave me feeling fresh and are easy to pack and bring on all trips. It’s also a way I check in with myself because the oil sheets show how much oil they absorb. Also, it leaves me looking photo ready and feeling confident! No matter where your destination is, these are worthy to be in your carry on bag or purse.
Tip: Honestly, any brand works! I like to use the absorbing sheets around lunch and dinner time. I especially use these sheets after spending awhile outside.
4. High Beauty High Five Cannabis Moisturizer
Do you have sensitive skin? If so, this Cannabis Facial Moisturizer has the anti-inflammatory ingredients to both moisturize and prevent blemishes. While Pacifica’s eye recovery cream focuses on dark circles and bags under the eyes, Cannabis Facial Moisturizer targets dryness. Even with oily skin, this has been an essential on the road.
Tip: A little goes a long way- start off using a dime size dallop!
5. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Mist Sunscreen (SPF 55)
One of the MOST important skin essentials to bring on your travels is sunscreen- especially for your face. For me, it was difficult to find sunscreen that would not contribute to excessive oil on my face. During my travels in Salt Lake City at HIVE Festival, I discovered Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Face Mist. Now, I will never travel anywhere without this. Best of all, it’s super easy to apply as a spray mist.
Tip: Reapply every two hours for the best protection possible!
6. Bonus: Pacifica Super Green Detox Kale & Charcoal Detox Face Mask
The best way to end your day and tell your skin “I love you”? Face mask time! Especially with this Super Green Detox mask from Pacifica. No matter what my skin has been through during the busy day, I always feel refreshed (and relaxed) after using this face mask. Pacifica has an extensive list of face masks for all skin types. Make sure to check it out to see what works for you!
Tip: If you prefer in person shopping, Target stores carry the Pacifica.
